50KVA-800KVA Modular UPS
Scalable 50–800kVA Modular UPS with N+X Redundancy, Online Double Conversion and Hot-Swappable Power Modules for Data Centers and Server Rooms Applications
ShanPu 50KVA-800KVA modular UPS is a three-phase online double-conversion UPS built on a 50kVA hot-swappable power module, designed for large data centers, critical infrastructure and demanding industrial or commercial applications. Cabinets accept 4, 6, 8, 10, 12 or 16 modules, covering 50-200kVA, 50-300kVA, 50-400kVA, 50-500kVA, 50-600kVA and 50-800kVA, with parallel expansion available for larger power requirements. Output is regulated 380/400/415Vac pure sine wave at power factor 1.0 with 0ms transfer, system efficiency reaches 96% and input power factor stays ≥0.99, while the modular architecture lets capacity grow module by module instead of replacing the whole system.
How the Modular UPS Works
A modular UPS uses multiple independent power modules to provide stable and reliable backup power.
Under normal conditions, utility AC power is converted through the UPS rectifier and inverter to supply clean, stable AC power to connected equipment. At the same time, the battery remains charged and ready for backup.
When utility power fails or becomes unstable, the battery immediately supplies power to the inverter, allowing the UPS to continue supporting the load without interruption.
Product Advantages
Modular & Scalable Architecture
The modular design allows users to configure UPS capacity according to actual load requirements. The system supports 50-800kVA capacity configurations, with further parallel expansion available for larger power requirements.
N+X Redundancy for High Availability
The N+X redundant architecture allows additional power modules to be installed as redundant capacity. If one module requires maintenance or experiences a fault, the remaining modules can continue supporting the critical load, improving overall system availability.
Easy Maintenance & Flexible Expansion
Individual power modules can be serviced or replaced without requiring major changes to the entire UPS system. This modular structure reduces maintenance complexity and allows additional capacity to be added as power demand increases.
Online Double-Conversion Protection
The online double-conversion topology continuously converts and regulates incoming power before supplying the load. This helps protect sensitive equipment against power interruptions, voltage fluctuations, electrical noise and other common power disturbances.
Intelligent Monitoring & Communication
DSP-based digital control provides accurate and stable system management. RS485 communication and optional SNMP support enable remote monitoring, while the EPO function provides an additional emergency shutdown option for critical applications.
Applications
Data Centers
The modular UPS provides reliable and scalable backup power for data centers and IT infrastructure. Its N+X redundancy architecture helps maintain continuous power availability, while the modular design allows capacity to be expanded as the data center load grows.
Server Rooms & Network Infrastructure
Designed for servers, network equipment, storage systems and other sensitive IT loads, the UPS delivers stable and conditioned power. Remote monitoring through RS485 and optional SNMP communication enables convenient system management and maintenance.
Financial Institutions
Banks, financial centers and other mission-critical facilities require highly reliable power protection. The modular UPS supports redundant configurations and flexible capacity expansion to reduce the risk of downtime caused by power interruptions or equipment failures.
Industrial & Manufacturing Facilities
The UPS can protect industrial control systems, automation equipment, production lines and other critical loads from power outages, voltage fluctuations and other power disturbances. Its modular architecture simplifies capacity planning and maintenance.
Government, Healthcare & Commercial Facilities
Suitable for hospitals, government facilities, commercial buildings and other critical infrastructures where power continuity is essential. The UPS provides stable backup power while supporting flexible deployment and long-term capacity expansion.
Typical Configurations
Step 1 - Size the load. Add up the connected critical load in kW and convert at power factor 1.0; select the cabinet whose module count covers both the load and the required redundancy level.
Step 2 - Choose the cabinet by module count. ECOplus 200-50 (4 modules, 50-200kVA), 300-50 (6 modules, 50-300kVA), 400-50 (8 modules, 50-400kVA), 500-50 (10 modules, 50-500kVA), 600-50 (12 modules, 50-600kVA) or 800-50 (16 modules, 50-800kVA).
Step 3 - Set the redundancy level. Define N+X by installing modules beyond the minimum required by the load, for example N+1 for a single fault-tolerant tier, and decide between parallel redundant deployment and standalone operation.
Step 4 - Match the battery and environment. Select the battery string voltage from ±180V to ±300Vdc (30-50 cells optional) with module charging current default 10A / maximum 15A, and install within 0-40°C, 0-95% RH (non-condensing) and below 1500m altitude (derate 1% per 100m above 1000m).

FAQ
What is a 50–800kVA Modular UPS System?
A 50–800kVA Modular UPS System is a high-capacity online UPS solution designed for large data centers, critical infrastructure and demanding industrial or commercial applications. Its modular architecture provides scalable capacity and flexible redundancy.
How does a 50–800kVA Modular UPS work?
The UPS continuously converts incoming AC power to DC through the rectifier and then back to regulated AC through the inverter. During a utility failure, the battery supplies the inverter so that the connected load can continue receiving power.
What are the advantages of modular architecture for large-scale UPS systems?
Modular architecture allows system capacity and redundancy to be configured according to project requirements. It also provides a structured approach to future expansion and module-level maintenance compared with a single fixed-capacity UPS.
Is the 50–800kVA UPS suitable for large data centers?
Yes. The wide capacity range makes it suitable for large data centers, server infrastructure, telecommunications facilities, financial institutions and other critical power environments where scalability and availability are important.
How does N+X redundancy improve system availability?
N+X redundancy adds one or more redundant power modules beyond the capacity required by the load. If a power module becomes unavailable, the remaining modules can continue supplying the load within the system's available capacity.
Can the UPS capacity be expanded for future data center growth?
Yes. The modular architecture supports staged capacity planning. Additional modules can be incorporated within the system's designed capacity to accommodate future load growth, reducing the need to replace the complete UPS system.
Can the 50–800kVA Modular UPS support centralized monitoring?
Yes. Communication options such as RS485 and optional SNMP can support remote monitoring and centralized UPS management, depending on the selected configuration.
Can you provide customized UPS configurations for large projects?
Yes. Modular UPS systems can be configured according to project requirements, including capacity, redundancy, battery configuration, communication options and system architecture. Technical support can also be provided for system selection and project planning.
